Will you be celebrating the 4th of July in beautiful Myrtle Beach? If not, now is the time to make plans to do so! The 4th of July falls on a Tuesday this year (Tuesday, July 4th, 2023) and the Myrtle Beach area has lots of fun events planned to celebrate!

4th of July is right around the corner and if you haven’t booked your Myrtle Beach accommodations yet, you will want to book while you still can! Rooms fill up quickly for this summertime holiday and you don’t want to miss choosing the perfect accommodation for your family’s Myrtle Beach Fourth of July vacation.

Note, many events are weather permitting.

Myrtle Beach 4th of July Fireworks

Myrtle Beach is known for its spectacular fireworks displays on the 4th of July, and this year is no exception. Here are some of the fireworks displays scheduled for Independence Day:

  • 2nd Avenue Pier - Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy fireworks over the ocean with Downtown Myrtle Beach’s 4th of July Fireworks Show, at 2nd Avenue Pier on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
  • Broadway at the Beach - Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at 10 p.m. Visit one of Myrtle Beach's most iconic attractions for an unforgettable fireworks show over Lake Broadway.
  • Barefoot Landing - Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at 10 p.m. Venture just north of Myrtle Beach to Barefoot Landing to celebrate the Fourth of July with an amazing fireworks show!
  • Cherry Grove Pier - Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at 9:30 p.m. Visit North Myrtle Beach's famous Cherry Grove Pier for a fireworks display on the beach!
  • Murrells Inlet MarshWalk - Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at 10 p.m. Head down south to the fishing town of Murrells Inlet for a scenic fireworks display over the marsh.
  • Myrtle Beach Pelicans - Saturday, Sunday, & Monday July 1st, 2nd and 3rd post-game show. Enjoy America's favorite pastime and watch the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play baseball, then enjoy an extraordinary fireworks display after the game!

Salute From The Shore

4th of July in Myrtle Beach 2023 Schedule & Fireworks | Myrtle Beach Hotels Blog (2)Salute F-16s and vintage military aircraft as they fly over the shore for this annual event! The flyover begins at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. The planes will fly over the Grand Strand and the South Carolina coast.

Murrells Inlet Boat Parade

The 40th Annual Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023.

This year’s theme is Made in the USA. The parade will begin in Garden City Beach and make its way through Murrells Inlet. The preferred viewing areas are along the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, Belin United Methodist Church, and Morse Park Landing. It will be followed by a fireworks show at 10 p.m.!

Independence Day 5K

Celebrate the 4th of July at The Market Common for the 14th Annual Independence Day Race. The event also features Uncle Sam’s 1 Mile Fun Run, the Stars & Stripes Kids Dash (50 yards) as well as a costume contest. The race is early in the morning on July 4th, 2023 at the Grand Park Lake in Market Common with the 5K kicking off at 7 a.m., the fun run at 7:30 a.m., and the kids’ dash at 8 a.m.

Red, White & Blue 5K

The 5th Annual Red, White, and Blue 5K run/walk is located at Crooked Hammock Brewery in Barefoot Landing. It features a USATF-certified course. The event kicks off with a 5K at 7 a.m. followed by a 50-yard kids’ dash that begins at 8 a.m. Runners, walkers, leashed dogs, and strollers are all welcome! Participants are encouraged to dress in red, white, and blue to be eligible for additional prizes!

Pawleys Island 4th of July Parade

Free to be me! Are you in the parade spirit? If so, head south to Pawley's Island for the annual 4th of July parade, beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Any vehicle with wheels can be decorated patriotically as a float. Examples include golf carts, cars, boats, and truck beds decorated for everyone’s enjoyment.

Surfside Beach 4th of July Golf Cart Parade

Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, an array of decorated golf carts will make their way down Ocean Boulevard in Surfside Beach.

Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, families are welcome to come out to Martin Field in Surfside Beach for a fun celebration. Kids will have a blast with the bounce house, slip and slide and face painting. Live music will be provided by Carolina Soul and delicious food will be available for purchase.
