New in update:
- Tunes no longer replace the stock car. Tunes will now be a selectable upgrade in-game.
- However this means that every time you make a new tune you will have to go to "general settings" and click "clear car preview cache" for them to appear in-game, or simply restart the game (just use "clear car preview cache" it is must faster).
- UI has been slightly updated, you no longer have to click install tune or save tune, only click apply if you have made any changes in "Basic Tuning", "Advanced Tuning" still saves automatically.
- You should now be able to create tunes of modded cars who have a data folder and not a data.acd file.
- Many have reported that in some cases Engine Swaps do not give the car more power. Try turning off traction control and report back.

Assetto Corsa Car Tuner:
This program allows you to tune any car in the game. You can do so with either "Basic Tuning" or "Advanced Tuning". Basic Tuning let's you modify preselected data like torque, turbo's, wheel drive and more! Advanced Tuning is for the more experienced tuner, and let's you mess around with the data files. Once you have made your changes, click save tune (If you used Basic Tuning click "Apply" first), then install tune to have it available in-game.
The program saves tunes as a seperate car that is selectable as an upgrade in-game, the original car is therefore not changed!
Tutorial:
- Unpack CarTuner.zip
- Open program by clicking the "Assetto Corsa Car Tuner.exe".
- Click "Select Assetto Corsa Folder" and a dialog window will pop up, select your Assetto Corsa install folder, it's usually under Steam/steamapps/common/.
- Select the car you wish to tune.
- Type a name for your tune in the textbox under "New Tune Name:" and click "Create New Tune". The program will automatically select the tune you just made.
- You can now modify the car using either "Basic Tuning" or "Advanced Tuning". When using "Basic Tuning" remember to click "Apply". "Advanced Tuning" let's you access the data files, any edits to these will auto save.
- Once you have made your edits simply boot up the game, and when you select the car you tuned, it should let you select upgrades, like so:
- You can do these changes while having the "Assetto Corsa Launcher" open. However, you will have to go to "general settings" and click "Clear car preview cache" for new tunes to appear. Tunes that already appear as selectable, can be modified, and the new changes should load next time you start a race.

The tunes that you make do not work online, unless the tune has been installed on that server. Each player will then have to have the same tune installed for it to work.
My program is essentially just an advanced text editor that manages files, and can make quick changes using basic tuning. To unpack the files it uses the program called QuickBMS. For ease of install the quickbms.exe file is included in the zip folder. QuickBMS however is capable of much more, check it out here:

This Car tuner works really well with a lot of cars! Most people that say the car is falling out the map or that its not working prob didnt set it up correctly or didnt double check the weight of the tuned car.

Don't work for me either like for many others too. I've put in the AC directory, can select a car, but when I wanna create a new tune I get the "unexpected error blabla" error as being mentioned by others. Now I have to figure out how to tune in CM - I can edit hp in the infos but they don't change the power ingame, has to be a another trick I guess. Or can only stock AC cars be tuned, not mods!? :-O

Pas compatible avec la version C.S.P 0.2.2 J'arrive a modifier la voiture et le selectionner mais au moment de commencer l'essai il me met l'erreur CSP

Just cannot get it to work at all with Content Manger and considering that seems to be a must in moding this game it feels like having it work with that is a must. Added in it took me 30 mins of selecting the same folder for it to just recognise it not the best.

Is this tool not compatible with CSP for content manager? is that the problem i also seeing the error
failed to decrypt model
model won't look right, please make sure you are using the latest version of shaders patch and that mod itself is not damaged
if this is because of CSP i suggest you update it to be fully compatible with the mod as more and more players are sing it as well as either SOL/Pure ...in my case pure (paid version)

Thank you so much Victor, this app is a must have gem. I enjoy slower racing and was able to down tune some of my more powerful cars into something I can enjoy Regards Mike.

Like other people, I get 1 of several malfunctions with this version 1.52 (which shows version 1.50 after starting it):
- Unhandled Exception Error, 100% of the time
After tuning a car (all I'm changing is weight and horsepower by 5%), the new tuned car:
1. doesn't load when AC is started from Content Manager "car failed to load", game crashes. OR
2. while loading, error pops up "Model Failed to Load". If I click Continue, the car loads but it doesn't look like a car, even in-car view, looks like a pile of paint brush strokes. Wow.

Excellent,i get TC Legends v1.0 mod,great mod but some cars gear won't up,other are so low,or only down shift work,like legends_ford_mustang, orlegends cortina.Legends ford fairlane shift speed a little slow but it's ok.so thank you.

Works great. Anyone saying it doesnt find the folder. I thought this also. You need to click on through and click on the actual assetto corsa folder in steamapps, common. Then make car tuner full screen, and ignore the wrong folder message.Click the little arrow for select car and the cars will appear :) Thanks to the creator, the fun i've had with this over the years is unreal :)
