Summer is officially over, but there are still plenty of things to do in Myrtle Beach in October, even when the kids are back at school. From fun fall festivals to food fests, the month of October is packed with spectacular events for guests of all ages!

Here is a small selection of events you can find in and around the Grand Strand area during the month of October:

23rd Annual Pawleys Island Wine & Food Gala | October 5, 2023

Where: The Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island
When: Event begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Pawleys Island Wine & Food Gala will feature over 65 wines, select hors d’oeuvres, and incredible desserts to sample and taste. The event, which benefits The Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art, will include a silent auction with prizes like vacations, artwork, local cruises, and more. Tickets are $100 per person and include wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert tasting.

Harvest Home Weekend Festival | October 7 – 8, 2023

Where: Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet, SC

Head to Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet for seasonally themed activities and fun. This weekend-long fall festival will include a huge pumpkin patch where kids can pick out their own pumpkin to paint and design ($5 for small pumpkins, $9 for large). Activities include an over-the-top scarecrow building contest ($5) throughout the weekend. Kid-friendly entertainment and great food will also be available. Festival attendance is free with garden admission.

Annual St. John’s Greek Festival | October 12 – 15, 2023

Where: St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church

One of Myrtle Beach’s most popular fall festivals, the St. John’s Greek Festival celebrates Greek culture and authentic meals with added family fun. The festival includes irresistible Mediterranean cuisine like gyros and pastries, live performances, music, vendors, and plenty of kid-friendly activities.

18th Annual Little River ShrimpFest | October 14 – 15, 2023

Where: Historic Little River Waterfront
When: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Grab a plate of delicious fresh local seafood at the 18th Annual Little River ShrimpFest. Held along the Historic Little River Waterfront, this fall celebration of everything shrimp will include fresh local seafood from local waterfront restaurants, along with festival food classics, two stages of live music, stilt walkers, balloon artists, and much more! The festival will also feature a wide variety of arts and crafts vendors, business expos, and community organizations. Festival admission is $7 per person at the door for 1 day of admission; children ages 12 and under are free.

7th Annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival | October 20 - 22, 2023

What started out as a free backyard jam, the Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival continues to bring the local community together through a celebration of music, fellowship, dancing, and local vendors, now for its seventh year. Past performers have included violinists, saxophonists, and bands. General Admission is free for all to attend.

Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival | October 21, 2023

Where: Downtown Loris

Make plans to attend one of the Grand Strand’s biggest food festivals. With vendors, live music, a huge children’s area, entertainment, and hearty helpings of chicken bog, the Loris Bog-Off Festival is a can’t-miss extravaganza celebrating the famous southern dish. The event will end with fireworks and a free concert. Admission is free.
