Rip Current Information | Destin, FL (2024)

WHEN IN DOUBT, DON'T GO OUT

It is extremely important that visitors and residents educate themselves on the beach flag warning system. Rip currents are powerful currents of water moving away from shore. Even the strongest swimmers can be swept out to sea. If you are caught in a rip current, swim parallel to the shore until the current weakens, then swim in. DOUBLE RED FLAGS - Water is CLOSED to the public.
